Who We Are

Why We Started The Everyday Canine

We founded The Everyday Canine because we noticed a disconnect between dogs' performance in training and their behavior in the real world. Many dogs excel in controlled settings but struggle at home. Our mission was to bridge that gap with a program designed to help dogs succeed in their daily lives with their families. Our philosophy is rooted in clarity, fairness, and practical application. We believe dogs thrive when expectations are clear, guidance is steady, and training is customized to the individual rather than a generic approach. Every program we provide is built on this foundation. The Everyday Canine was built to train dogs and empower their owners. Watching dogs gain confidence and seeing owners feel capable as their bonds strengthen is the heart of what we do. This is more than a business; it is a passion we care about deeply, and we are grateful every time a family allows us to be a part of their dog's journey.

I have always been drawn to dogs, fascinated by their cognition and communication styles. To me, training is more than commands; it is about fostering mutual understanding so dogs and owners can navigate life together with ease and confidence. Prior to training full-time, I worked in corrections, which sharpened my skills in observation, behavior awareness, and calm communication. This background informs my approach today; I prioritize reading body language and understanding the root cause of a behavior before addressing it. My practice focuses on real-world obedience to ensure dogs succeed at home and in public. I believe in thoughtful progress and never rush through skills or rely on shortcuts. Clear communication is always the priority. With a background in human development, I tailor every program to the specific dog I am working with. When guidance is fair and structure is consistent, dogs truly excel. My demo dog, Riot, often works with me to model behaviors and help other dogs learn to manage distractions. He is the ultimate training partner. I love seeing dogs gain confidence and owners feel empowered. If you seek training based on trust and real results, I would be honored to work with you.

I believe successful training is built on clarity, consistency, and trust. Dogs thrive with fair expectations, and my goal is to help owners feel capable in their everyday lives together. As a graduate of Starmark Academy’s Canine Training Specialist program, I have a deep foundation in learning theory and behavior. I adopted my demo dog, Denver, from Starmark, and he serves as a constant reminder of what a positive, structured relationship can achieve. His growth reinforces my belief that real progress stems from thoughtful follow-through. I specialize in advanced obedience and reliability under distraction. Watching a dog transition from confusion to clarity is incredibly rewarding. I focus on steady, step-by-step progression to ensure a dog fully understands every task. Training is about strengthening the relationship and creating results that last. Helping dogs reach their potential while guiding owners is a responsibility I take seriously. When working with me, you can expect honest, structured guidance. My objective is to equip you with the tools and confidence needed long after our program concludes.
